火星朋友逃過一劫
現在是香港時間 1 月 30 日 21:33，小行星 2007 WD5 應已在兩個多小時之前掠過火星。
去年十二月，科學家預測此顆直徑達 50 公尺的小行星，將於今天有機會撞擊火星表面，其撞擊機率一度高達 4%。但在隨後的修正計算中，此機率降低至萬份之一，即基本上排除了撞擊的可能。火星上的朋友逃過一劫，但地球上那班不睡覺的天文學家們，卻失去了一次目睹小行星撞擊火星的機會。
另一方面，昨天還有另一顆直徑約 250 公尺的小行星 2007 TU24，剛好以 0.0037 AU 的距離掠過地球，即約地月平均距離的 1.4 倍，看來我們跟火星人一樣幸運。
