What is this course about?
Information literacy refers to the life-long ability of a person to work with information. It involves the ability to identify the information needs, to search for information, to evaluate the information, to use the information, and finally to present the information in a proper manner. This ability lays the foundation stone of autonomous and life-long learning, which is essential for the students to stay with the rest of the fast-changing world in today’s new economy. In this regard, this course is designed, as part of the University’s liberal arts education, to foster the students’ information literacy. Completion of the course meets the University’s information literacy requirement.
